Changing Front Disc’s and Pads

After jacking up PT and removing wheel this is what you see, Brake Disc and Caliper

Remove the Two bolts holding Caliper in place

Remove the Caliper

Should come off pretty easy, but a small pry bar or screwdriver will help.

Fasten the Caliper to the spring above to avoid damaging brake pipes etc.

I used a cable tie but rope, string  or bungee will do

Remove the Pads, again pry bar or screwdriver maybe helpful

Remove the Two bolts holding Caliper mounting

If you have one, remove the securing clip that’s around the wheel stud.

I used a big rubber hammer behind disc and knock both disc and clip off together, I’ve no patience :-)

Remove Disc

Pull out Pins (Good Tug) wipe off old grease and put some new grease on and push back in.

Put on New Disc

Replace Caliper Bracket

Put in new brake pads

Now you will need to push the caliper piston fully back

I used a 6” G Clamp and an old brake pad, extra pair of hands is useful but not essential

You can add a small amount of Copper Grease to back of pads

Replace Caliper, the ends of the pins are shape, flat edges top and bottom
